Three Peaks for £30k

At the beginning of July, a courageous team from across the business took on the UK Three Peaks Challenge, aiming to complete the challenge in 24 hours, and raise money as part of our 30th Anniversary Charity Challenge.

The team saw wind, rain, snow, frozen fingers and toes (broken boots didn’t help), and not to mention some incredible views along the way.

Here’s how they did it.

With their equipment packed and hiking sticks at the ready, the team set off up their first climb, Ben Nevis. It started with rain, which turned to face bashing hail as they climbed the first mountain in 45mph winds, a typical Scottish July we’re told.

Despite mother nature fighting against them in Scotland and few pairs of frozen gloves, the team went on and stormed up Scafell. Finishing in the early hours of the morning, they ventured on back down to travel to their final climb, Snowdon.

After a long 24hrs in unforgiving conditions, The sun finally appeared with some amazing clear views over half of Wales.

Having completed the final ascent, the team faced one final adventure to the local pub where they found a very well deserved pint and a short nap by the river.

A massive well done to the team for smashing it and making everyone at Waterstons very proud.

Even with the less-than-ideal weather conditions, everyone gave it their all and raised an incredible £7246 (still growing). An extra special thanks goes to the incredible support team that was with them throughout, and to everyone who helped with the organising for making all this possible.

You can still donate to our challenge to raise £30,000 as part of our 30th anniversary year – find out more at Waterstons30 .
