Create a microsite in sharepoint online - Introduction
Summary
Hopefully, this guide (along with some judicious Googling) has been enough to get you up and running with SharePoint communication sites. We’ve deliberately kept things relatively simple for this course, but I’m sure you’ll have got the sense that there’s much more you can do – and you’d be right. In many cases, there’s more than one way to achieve the same thing, and a good deal of trial and error (and patience) goes a long way in SharePointland.
Here are a few other things you could do if you wanted to take your microsite to the next level:
Build a custom search experience to help users find content
Incorporate workflows using Power Automate to alert content editors when their pages are getting stale
Scale out to a multiple-site setup, using a Hub site to associate several microsites, with a consistent set of branding and navigation (aka “you did mean to turn it into an Intranet project, didn’t you?”)
Incorporate quizzes to validate that users have successfully worked their way through the content, and keep track of which modules they have completed (aka “you did mean to turn it into a Learning Management System, didn’t you?”)
Share the site with selected third parties from outside your organisation
